Ian Coulter is a London based composer, pianist and songwriter based in London. He is known for his ability to work across several genres and mediums, especially for his knack for combining traditional and contemporary compositions with animations.

the brief

To design a visual identity that would truly showcase the musician's individuality and experimental nature.

the solution

This bold identity found its way into the design with sharp geometric edges paired with curves, which hint at the complexity of the artist with animations.

​

 In a nod to contemporary, the palette is orange and blue, the coluors that are used to create the icon.

In the animations, we worked carefully to make the initials of the musician "I C"  letterforms to look strong but fun, playing with the sharp geometric typeface.
